China Bottling Line Project Cost Breakdown
A buyer-side framework for estimating equipment, utilities, tooling, delivery, site work, startup, and other total project cost categories.
There is no single responsible answer to 鈥淗ow much does a bottling line from China cost?鈥?until the product, bottle, capacity, line boundary, destination, and local factory conditions are known. A useful estimate separates equipment price from the total project cost required to produce saleable packs.

Compare the same commercial boundary
One supplier may quote only the filling block while another includes treatment, blowing, packing, installation, and spares. Put each quotation into the same cost structure before comparing totals. Mark every line as included, excluded, optional, buyer-supplied, or still unconfirmed.
Capacity changes the whole system
Higher output can affect filler size, bottle blowing, compressor capacity, conveyors, labeler and packer selection, utility demand, operator count, warehouse flow, and building space. Compare the proposed line against a realistic sales and shift plan, not only the supplier’s maximum speed headline.
Budget for buyer-side responsibilities
The equipment contract rarely covers every local cost. Buyers should separately estimate building preparation, electrical distribution, drainage, raw and finished water storage, laboratory needs, permits, import charges, inland transport, unloading, installation support, operators, packaging materials, and startup losses. Local professionals should confirm regulatory and engineering requirements.
Request three cost views
Ask for an equipment price, a delivered-cost view, and an installed-project view. The first explains the supplier contract. The second adds export packing, freight, insurance, import and inland logistics assumptions. The third adds buyer-side site work, utilities, installation support, test materials, training, startup spares, and contingency. Even when some figures remain estimates, this structure exposes gaps early.
Separate base scope, options, and future formats
Optional machines and future SKU capability should not be hidden inside an unclear total. Ask suppliers to price the base production requirement first, then list optional automation, additional bottle molds, change parts, inspection systems, pallet handling, and expanded spare-parts packages separately. This makes budget reductions more deliberate and helps avoid removing an item that the line actually needs to run.
Use change control during quotation
When capacity, bottle format, pack style, voltage, or line boundary changes, record the revision and request a refreshed scope. Comparing an old low quote with a newer complete quote creates a false price difference. A dated comparison sheet should show which specification revision each price is based on.
