Factory Visit Checklist

Factory Visit Checklist for Zhangjiagang Manufacturing Buyers

A practical checklist for overseas buyers visiting suppliers in Zhangjiagang, Suzhou, and Jiangsu manufacturing areas.

A factory visit should not become a casual walk through a workshop. Buyers need a simple plan for what to see, what to photograph, what questions to ask, and what should be confirmed after the visit.

Before the visit

  • Confirm the company name, location, meeting contact, and product scope.
  • Send the project summary and the key questions you want answered.
  • Ask whether photos and videos are allowed in production areas.
  • Prepare a checklist for equipment, materials, samples, packing, and shipment evidence.

During the visit

Record the flow: entrance, office, sample area, production line, warehouse, quality check area, packing area, and loading area. If the project involves machinery, ask to see nameplates, control panels, running machines, spare parts, and previous project evidence.

After the visit

  • Organize photos and videos by topic.
  • List unanswered questions and promised follow-ups.
  • Compare what was seen with the quotation and supplier claims.
  • Do not rush deposit decisions until key gaps are clarified.
